Hand-me-downs

I LOVE that I have a little girl and another little girl on the way! It is so much fun to be able to dress Lila up in clothes that I wore when I was little.  Lila finally fits into the outfit that I wore at my first birthday party (I guess I was a bit chunkier than she is considering she is almost 16 months old fitting into my old birthday party outfit), so I was so happy to finally put it on her! The aqua color makes her (and used to make my) blue eyes really pop. Of course, I had to take a few tons of pictures of her in my cute smocked outfit.

Teething?

Lila's little mouth still only has eight teeth (only two of those being on the bottom), and I can't feel or see any signs of new ones to come yet. I love her little, relatively toothless mouth, but I think that's about to change. These are some pictures from our afternoon today...
 Not a happy camper :(

Dancing through Dinner at Kemah

Lila chowing down on a lemon and watching the band play

Josh and Me at dinner

Last night we met some of our friends that just moved here from Florida at Cadillac restaurant on the Kemah Boardwalk. We are so lucky to live so close to Kemah and take Lila there all the time. Being a Saturday night, they had a live band playing outside on the patio where we ate dinner.

Lila LOVES to dance, and I mean looooves to dance. Anytime there is music playing anywhere she busts a move and shakes her little body to the music. I think it has a little something to do with my teaching Jazzercise until I was 36 weeks pregnant with her...but who knows? She had such a great time listening to the band play while we ate, and it was a nice break for us who normally have a hard time keeping her quiet, eating, and entertained while out to eat.

Park Playtime with Grammy

While Grammy was here to visit for a few days, we took Lila to the park in the neighborhood so that she could swing and walk around chasing her new ball. It was super HOT, but Lila didn't care and played as hard as usual. Chevy even got to come and enjoy the breeze by the lake. We might have to start making our park trips a little earlier since it's only getting hotter here!

32 Weeks

How far along: 32 weeks  (I can't believe there is less than 2 more months until my due date!)

Size of baby: she weighs about 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long (from babycenter.com)

Total weight gain/loss: +22 pounds (yikes that sounds crazy!)

Maternity clothes: still a good mixture. Thanks to maxi dresses, I am able to wear many of the clothes that I've worn every other summer.  There are also a few flowy tops that still I'm able to wear, but other than that, it's all maternity clothes from here on out.  I just love the clothing selections for a summer pregnancy! Lila was born in February, and I felt so pale, big, and restricted in jeans and sweaters!

Gender: a GIRL! Allison Neal Gentry

Movement: Yes!! She definitely has more of a pattern than Lila did. I can always feel her moving around 9am and 9pm no matter what I'm doing. Here lately, I feel her more squirming around rather than strong kicks, which is exactly what Lila did. I think I'm due to have two squirmy babies, which will be sure to make airplane rides fun :)
Contractions: I started having Braxton-Hicks contractions at around 18 weeks, which is MUCH earlier than last time, which I hear is completely normal for your second pregnancy. Although they are annoying, it's good that my body is already starting to get ready for labor. I get them A LOT when I'm walking on the treadmill or outside for exercise, which makes it harder and harder each day to get in a full workout!

Sleep: I'm actually sleeping really well right now, although every now and then my hip will start hurting and I need to switch to the other side.

What I miss: everything!! I have wanted wine and champagne much more this pregnancy.  I gave in recently and had half a glass of white wine, but it felt really weird and wrong so I think I'll hold off imbibing until after she is born. I've got a bottle of Cakebread Chardonnay reserve waiting for me in the refrigerator for when we come home from the hospital! I've also wanted sushi (the good, raw kind!) more than last time.

Cravings: Cheetos, anything sweet (mainly chocolate and cake), and deli sandwiches (yeah I know they're supposed to be a no-no, but I just try to not have them everyday!). Also, Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits and McDonald's sausage and cheese biscuits (I'm getting hungry just typing this).

Best moment this month: This past month was so special with the celebration of my second Mother's Day. We (Lila and I) spent Mother's Day with friends because Josh was working, so Josh made the following week Mother's Day week. He is such a sweet husband and father!! This past week Lila and me took her 15-month pictures down on the beach in Galveston. It was so windy, but I think the photographer got some cute shots of Lila playing in the middle of the ocean in her pretty dress.

Date Night

Since my mom is here, Josh and I decided to go on a date since it has been quite a while since we've eaten at a restaurant without Lila making a mess (and most of the time, an interesting scene). While living in Destin, Florida, we ate at the Tommy Bahama Cafe all the time. It is such a good, fun place to eat and we really miss not being that close to one. There is one here in The Woodlands which is a good 50 miles from us in a suburb north of Houston, so with a free babysitter, we thought 'why not?' It took us a good hour and a half to get there because of rush hour traffic, but it was well worth the wait. The restaurant sits in a mini-city-like area called Market Street among many other boutiques, stores, restaurants, a movie theatre, and a cute little park. After dinner, we walked around the Market Street area for a while before making the treck back home. I'm so glad that we got a chance to venture up there because it is such a neat place! Thanks mom for babysitting Lila :)

Poor Chevy!

Chevy takes so much abuse from Lila, and by abuse, I mean lots of loving abuse.  She pulls on his ears, pulls his tail, pulls his fur, and climbs all over him. He is such a sweet dog and puts up with all of her pulling and climbing.  Sometimes she even pops him on his nose, but we're working on that!
 Thinking about climbing over him
 Here she goes
Chevy's face looks like he's saying "help me, please!"
Going back over again, Chevy says "really? give me a break, Lila!"

Sprinkler Fun

The weather this past weekend was beyond gorgeous (mid-70's and low humidity), so we took advantage of it and spent a lot of time in the backyard Saturday evening. The baby pool was already blown up and filled, but Josh hooked the little sprinkler head that we have up to the hose so Lila could play in it. She LOVES water so much and had such a blast playing in the sprinkler and then taking a dip in the pool.  The only bad thing were the mosquitoes that are now back out in full force :( She ended up with a big bite right in the middle of her forehead and two on her arms. The mosquitoes just love her because she's so sweet!  I can't wait until I can enjoy a glass of wine again while sitting in the backyard!
Chevy even got to join in on the fun
Josh took the opportunity to practice his golf swing
All done and ready to go back inside

Alli's 3D/4D Ultrasound

This afternoon, Josh, Lila, and I went to Baby Love Ultrasound here in League City for a 3D/4D ultrasound to get some pictures of our baby Alli. I had a 3D/4D ultrasound done with Lila at 29 weeks, and I am 30 weeks with Alli, so I knew that they would look similar.  Alli was so cooperative and so sweet during the ultrasound, and we got some really cute shots of her precious little face. The ultrasound technician said that she is head down (hope she stays that way!) and is approximately 3-3.5 pounds. It's such a tease though because I want so badly to hold her in my arms right now! Only 10(ish) more weeks until I get to do that very thing!
Giving us a thumbs up (and a big toe at the bottom)

I put in Lila's ultrasound picture at the bottom to compare. The placenta is blocking part of Lila's face, but it's a decent picture.

Lila at 29 weeks-They look similar, but also different (so profound, I know!)

Obstacle Course

Ever since Lila could crawl, she has loved to maneuver her way underneath our three barstools. This task used to be quite the challenge, but now she can make it one way in under a minute. She would be happy if she could crawl in, up, around, over (and any other prepositions that would work) objects all day long, which she pretty much does!
