Last Friday (2/20/15), it started to snow while the kids were napping, and I couldn't wait for them to get up and see it. Lila is the only child of ours that has ever seen snow, and that was when she was only 10 months old when we visited Atlanta for Christmas. She only remembers it because of the pictures that she's seen.
They all were so excited to see it, that we didn't even bother changing them out of the clothes they wore to sleep in (hence the reason Alli is in her t-shirt and boy underwear :)!)...we had no idea that this little snow afternoon would only be an appetizer of what was to come in the next week!

Mother's Breakfast at MPCS
The girls' classes hosted a Mother's breakfast for all the sweet mommas last week. It was held before school, so it was fun to get to see how they come into the class, put their things away, and complete their first routine tasks of the day. I was super impressed, specifically with Alli, as I watched her locate her last name on the role to check herself in, trace her first name, and go to the rug for an independent activity (now if I can only get her to follow those kinds of independent directions at home!). Both girls had so much fun having breakfast with me in their classroom, and I had a great time with them also. Their little songs were precious, and I absolutely loved when Lila sung "You are my sunshine" to me with her little hands on my face. It was such a special moment, and I'm so thankful that I can experience these sweet days in the kids' lives!

Waiting on Snow
Yesterday, we knew the snow (round 2) was coming later in the afternoon, so we took advantage and had a playdate and lunch with friends that morning before heading home to get ready for the snow. Lila and Grant got a chance to model for me in the studio, and Lila read her doll a story, while we waited for the snow to start. I love being able to capture the everyday with my kids through my lens.

Lila's 5th Birthday Party
Lila had a Frozen birthday party at our house on February 7th to celebrate turning five. She invited all of her sweet classmates, and we had so much fun celebrating with everyone. Elsa made her appearance, read a story, painted faces, and sang "Let it Go" with the kiddos after Lila blew out her candles. It was a great party, and I think all the kids had a blast!
