28 Weeks

How far along: 28 weeks today

Total weight gain: +23 pounds

Maternity clothes: Yes, finally pretty much everything that I wear is maternity these days, besides my jeans, a pair of shorts, and my flowy dresses and tops.

Stretch marks: Just the old ones on my chest that have popped up again.

Sleep:  I can't complain, although I've been feeling much more tired these past few weeks. I think that it's too early to be feeling late-pregnancy fatigue, but I've kept myself really busy which is probably the cause. Thankfully, I'm sleeping really well though.

Best moment of this week:  Getting Grant's room put together and decorated. I can't wait to add pictures to all of the frames in there!

Food cravings: Still about the same...lots of salty foods: Nachos, pickles, doritos, cheetos, Coca Cola, greek yogurt, and spinach dip with Wheat Thins. I've also wanted tons of fruit this time, which was different than with both girls.

Anything making you queasy or sick: The headaches haven't bothered me near as much this past month (thank goodness!). If I eat too much, I'll feel really full and a little sick, but other than that, all is well!

Have you started to show yet:  For sure! Just this month, strangers are finally starting to ask me when my due date is.

Gender: BOY!!! Grant Joshua Gentry and his closet is growing by the day :)

Labor signs: The lovely Braxton Hicks started around 18 weeks.

Belly button in or out: In, but it's getting really flat

Wedding rings on or off: Still on...hopefully I'll never need to take it off

Happy or moody most of the time: A little bit of both...mostly happy this month though. The break in work was nice!

Looking forward to: Grant's first baby shower this weekend in Atlanta! Also, I can't wait for our 3D ultrasound in a few weeks.

Church Directory Portraits

Last Saturday (while Lila and I were battling the stomach flu), we had an appointment for our family portraits for our church pictorial directory.  It was the last day that they were offering them, so I really didn't want to cancel our appointment, even though Lila and I did not feel our best (and definitely didn't look our best!). Given the circumstances, the pictures turned out pretty cute. I'm not a huge fan of cheesy, posed studio portraits,  but the girls did a great job.

Happy Birthday, Suzette!

On Friday night, a few of my tennis friends went out for Suzette's 50th birthday, and we all had a blast! We met at Suzette's to catch the limo that took us around Houston for drinks and dinner.

Our first stop was a bar on Westheimer called Anvil.  They had every random combinations of drinks known to man, and it was a really neat, small, urban bar.  I had the bartender make me up something tropical and alcohol free, so he made me some kind of pineapple-lime juice combination that was awesome.  Everyone's drinks looked so pretty, and it sounded like they tasted really good too!

Next, we made our way to Tila's for dinner where we stuffed our faces with cheese dip, ceviche, guacamole  enchiladas, and tres leches cake.  It was so good, and we all ate waaaay too much.  Our waiter was pretty attractive, and I think that Liz made the poor guy feel so uncomfortable with her not-so-subtle flirting :)

After dinner, we went to our last stop, Sambuca for some dancing. The band was awesome, and they played some of my favorites ("September" anyone ?!?). We were all pretty exhausted by then, so we made our way back home around 1am. It was so much fun getting out with my fun and crazy tennis ladies!

MOMs Club Annual Dinner

Last Thursday, we had our MOMs Club's Annual Dinner at Opus Bistro.  It is always so much fun to catch up with everyone, especially since the girls and I have been so busy that we haven't been as active in the club as we had been before.  Opus is always so delicious, and it did not disappoint this time either.  It's always so much fun to get together with these ladies without our kids around so that we can actually talk without interruptions. It was a great time!

Father's Day

Since Lila and I caught Alli's stomach bug Father's Day weekend, we had a pretty low-key Father's Day, which Josh seemed to be okay with. Saturday, he spent the day taking care of us girls and painting the final coat of Grant's nursery, but Sunday, we were feeling better and tried to take care of him a bit.

We woke up early and the girls got busy decorating his Father's Day card.  They loved coloring the card, and Lila loved adding random letters and shapes to it also. When they were done, we left the card for him to see while we ran to Whataburger to pick up some breakfast for him (and us since we could finally eat again!). Josh was awake when we got back, so we all relaxed and ate breakfast together.  He had to pick up some uniforms from his office, so we all went with him since we'd never seen it before.  After we got back from his work, we got the girls ready and spent a few hours at the neighborhood pool before coming home for a quick lunch and naps.  We relaxed and took it easy the rest of the day and night (which is Josh's favorite thing to do!).

I think that he had a good Father's Day, I know that he deserves it for sure! He is such a wonderful father to our girls, and I hope that he'll be a strong, Godly example for our son as well!

Swim Lessons

Lila is doing swim lessons once a week at Acrosport while she is there for school on Thursdays. She is so excited because her friend Samantha is in her class, and they had a blast together at their first swim lesson last Thursday! I didn't bring my big camera, so these are poor iPhone pics, but one day I will remember my Canon :)

They look so cute in their little goggles, and they both had a great time kicking in the water and swimming around.  Lila didn't like having to wait her turn (shocker!), but she didn't fuss so that was good! I can't wait to watch them progress in their swimming throughout the Summer.

waiting patiently to get started
