As cliche as this sounds...I really can't believe that Lila is 12 weeks old today!!! Wow, the time sure has flown by!
By now Lila is: *smiling at faces she recognizes, *rolls over from tummy to back, *rolls halfway over from back to tummy, l*ifts her head 90 degrees when on her tummy, *talking and cooing all the time, *focusing on objects for longer periods of time, *has great control of her head, *puts pressure on her thighs when held standing, *sleeping for 5-7 hour stretches at a time at night, *looks at her hands and loves to suck on her fists, *loves her bath and being naked, *loves swatting at and grabing hold of the objects in her playyard, and loves being with her mom, dad, and dog Chevy!
She has developed and grown so much in the last 3 months! She is over 22 inches long and weighs 11.4 pounds. Josh and I have enjoyed every minute (even the tired, sleepless ones!) of being parents, and are so blessed that God has given us this little angel!

Birthday Weekend in Atlanta
What a wonderful extended weekend we had visiting friends and family in Atlanta!!! We got into town Thursday afternoon and met my parents, grandparents, and sister at Stoney River for my birthday dinner. It was delicious as always, and my grandparents enjoyed getting to spend some time with Lila. She sat and looked up at my grandmama (my dad's mom) and talked to her the whole dinner! Friday, we had our wedding photographer, Laura Negri, come to my parent's house to take Lila's 3-month pictures (although she'll be three months on May 3rd). She said that Lila was a gem and a breeze to photograph. I wonder if that's because she has had a camera in her face since the second she was born!?! We all wore white, and I can't wait to see how the pictures turn out! My parents left Friday to go to Ole Miss for my brother's fraternity parent's weekend, so Josh and I went to lunch at the River Club with Lila. We got to relax at the house a bit, and then my aunt Carol Anne and uncle Greg came over to visit with Lila and take us out to dinner for my birthday. I love when birthday celebrations last several days :-) ! We went to the Mexican restaurant up the street from my parent's house, and it was so much fun! Saturday (my actual birthday) we went to visit our friends Rachel and Kevin's little boy Liam. He was born April 12th, and will be Lila's boyfriend in a few years! He is such a cutie! I enjoyed holding him while we chatted. Saturday night, we went to our good friend, Brittany's wedding. Luckily the rain stopped for most of the ceremony and party, and we had so much fun seeing many of our high school friends. They loved to hold Lila, and she was passed around during the whole party. Josh loved that her outfit matched his! So cute! Lila had so much fun meeting all the new friends too! Sunday, Josh's parents came over to my parent's house and we all ate brunch up at the club. Then, Josh's cousins who have triplet boys and a girl toddler came over to the house also to swim. They are so cute and we had fun watching them play in the pool. Mamu held Lila while she slept the whole time! Lila was so good for her grandparents! Monday, we met our good friend Bryan for lunch at Cafe at Pharr so that we could visit and so he could meet Lila. After lunch, we headed over to Lenox and walked around while we waited for my mom to meet us for birthday shopping! Josh was such a trooper while he shopped with us at Neiman Marcus and actually picked out a few things for me to try on! My mom was impressed that he was participating. He spotted Sheree from the Real Housewives from Atlanta while shopping and we shopped around her hoping that we would get on camera, but the cameras weren't around...bummer! Once we were done shopping, we headed back up north and met my dad and sister for dinner before heading to Suwanee. I had such a great long birthday weekend, but it's always nice to be back at home! We leave on Tuesday for Houston to house-hunt! Wish us luck!

First Beach/Pool Trip
The weather here has been so nice the past few weeks that Josh and I were dying to get to the beach and of course take Lila for her first beach experience. Saturday, we took her down to the beach at my parent's condo here in Destin. The water was a little cold so we just dipped her little toes in for a second. She wasn't too crazy about the sand, and I don't blame her, it's not my favorite part either! She also hates her hat, or really anything on her head, but she posed for a few pictures with it. We kept her under an umbrella for a bit at the beach, then took her to the pool. The pool there is heated so she loved it!!! We only got her little feet and legs in because we didn't want to have to fool with her diaper. Yesterday, my parents and I took Lila down to the pool for a full-body swim. Josh had to go back to work and was so sad that he had to miss it! I played with her in the pool for a while until my dad wanted to take over. He had the best time swimming with her; it brought him back to the days of swimming with me in the pool when I was little. She was so cute, and she was kicking her legs the whole time. She is going to be such a little water bug when she is old enough to swim on her own. She had such a good time kicking and moving her arms in the water, and I think it made my dad's year to play with her! I'm sure we'll be making many more trips to the beach before we leave Destin!!!

MOPS Tea and Testimonies
This past Tuesday we had a Tea and Testimonies day at our MOPS group. For those of you who don't know, MOPS is a mom's group that is held 2 Tuesdays a month at our church, Niceville United Methodist. It is a great group of Christian moms that get together and share stories, eat great food, and give praise to God. It is such a great ministry, and I have really enjoyed being a part of it for these past few months. MOPS is an international group, so I'm looking forward to finding a group in the Houston/Galveston area when we move! For our Tea we came up with a Springtime theme for our centerpiece. We each brought fresh flowers, vases, and bright springtime accessories to go with our table. We used sliced lemons and limes in the vases to bring some color to the bottom as well. It turned out really beautiful! Each table had a different theme, and they all looked amazing. Cortney's table, with a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme, won the contest. They all dressed in black dresses and pearls, had Tiffany blue boxes and silver pitchers and candles in the center, and it was so pretty! Two ladies gave their testimonies, which were very touching! It was so great to hear their struggles and triumphs in their walk with God. Here is a picture of the girls at our table and some of our flower centerpiece:

New Milestone
Lila HATES tummy time! I'm not sure why, but she hates it. She usually fusses the whole time as if she is really frustrated or angry at me for making her do it. However, the past few days she hasn't hated it quite so much. She has also been lifting up all the way on her forearms. She looks so proud and happy to be able to lift herself up that high! Today, while I was making her do tummy time, she lifted up really high on her forearms and then all of a sudden she just flipped over on her back. She flipped so hard that she almost got airborne! I'm sure she was so happy to figure out a way to get out of tummy time! After that, I thought it might be a fluke, so I rolled her back over on her tummy (she didn't like that very much!) and PLOP over she went again! I couldn't believe it!!! I let her hang out on her back for a few minutes, which she was very happy about, before rolling her back on her tummy. She would not have it anymore and fussed, so I gave up and decided that was a good enough tummy time session for me! I'm so proud of my increasingly mobile little girl! The days of setting her places and knowing she won't go anywhere are officially gone!

2 Month Check-Up
Baby Lila is growing right on track and had the same percentages as she did at her one month check-up! She is a petite little thing and weighs 10 pounds now. She is 22 inches long, which is the 50% percentile, dead average! Is it okay to be jealous of your daughter's figure, long and skinny? Just kidding, but really, I might be when she's about 18 years old if she stays this way! She also had to get her 2-month old vaccines. We took her to Eglin Air Force base to get them because, well, it's free! But, they were out of the prevnar shots, so she had to get another shot the next day at her well-baby check up. Poor thing-two days worth of shots! She didn't cry too bad, I probably cried worse than she did, I have such needle anxiety it's ridiculous! After both sets of shots, she came home and slept most of the afternoon. Today, she is back to her old self, playful as always!

Easter Weekend
And he said to them, "Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him.
-Mark 16:6
Easter weekend was a busy, but fun one! Josh, me, Lila, and our dog, Chevy piled in the car and headed north to Atlanta to be with our families this holiday weekend. We spent Friday night unpacking and visiting with my parents and my brother who flew in from Ole Miss for the weekend. Of course, my mom grabbed Lila the minute we walked in the door, so Josh and I took advantage of the alone time and exercised, he ran around the neighborhood, while I walked on the treadmill. I know, probably not the alone time that you would have taken advantage of, but we needed some exercise endorphines after sitting in the car for 6 hours! Saturday morning, I helped host a bridal shower for my good friend, Brittany, at my friend Sally's new house. We had so much fun seeing old friends and the food and mimosas were great (thanks Mrs. Mentzer!!!). After the shower, Josh, Lila, Chevy, and I went out to Monroe to visit with his family for Easter. Lila spent the afternoon and evening in the arms of her great-grandparents, great aunt, second cousin, and of course her Mamu and Big Pop! She was such a happy baby, and we could tell she was having so much fun 'talking' to Great Papa! It was so sweet! The Easter Bunny brought goodies for Lila at Mamu and Big Pop's as well as my parents, Granddaddy and Grammy's house. We think that's what my mom is going to be called, even though after 10 different names, she still isn't 100% set on Grammy either. Easter Sunday morning we went to church with my family at Peachtree Road Methodist, which is where Josh and I were married. Lila was so perfect during the service! She sat in my lap and looked around the whole time. She really enjoyed looking at the stained glass window next to us. We went for a quick lunch at Market at the W hotel before having to head back to Florida. It was such a quick trip, but we had such a great first Easter as a family of 3!
