St. Christopher MDO Meet the Teacher Night

Last night we went to Lila's school for a meet-the-teacher night. We didn't get to do this last year because we didn't move to the area until about a month after school had started, so Lila was excited to get a sneak peek of her classroom this year. She is across the hall from her classroom last year and was pretty confused as to why she wasn't going left to her room this time. I can't believe that she isn't in the youngest class anymore, and her teacher from last year, Mrs. Aimie, really gave her lots of love when she saw her again. Lila ran right up to her and gave her a hug, which made her feel good.

Her teachers this year are Ms. Denise and Ms. Amy, and they seem to be such sweet ladies. Lila had a great time last night meeting a couple of the boys that will be in her class as well as playing with the toys and reading the books. She got really upset when we were leaving and wanted to take the Winnie the Pooh book with her, so I'm sure she will be excited to play next week when school officially starts. I know that I can't wait for her to be in school :) !!

Ultrasound Comparison

At 30 weeks, I had a 3D/4D ultrasound done at Baby Love Ultrasound here in League City. I couldn't wait to get Alli's newborn pictures back to compare her ultrasound to her real face. They really do look just alike, which means that the 3D picture was really clear and accurate. Just wanted to post on here before I forgot!

Sister Sunday

A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost.  ~Marion C. Garretty

What's a Sunday without an impromptu photo shoot in their matching church outfits, right?!?

Poor Alli looks like she's getting abused in these pictures, but it's out of love, and Lila really was being pretty gentle
I'm so jealous of her long and dark eyelashes!!

Pack-in-Play Playtime

Alli has gotten to where she really enjoys being put down in her pack-and-play to look at and kick the animals that hang from above. Whenever she is playing in there, Lila wants to try and climb in there also. Here are some pictures and a (long-sorry) video that I took of them playing yesterday afternoon.

Bath Time

It's amazing to me how much Alli has already grown. I noticed just how much last night when I was giving her a bath (we call them tubbies in our house!).

Here are pictures of her first bath at home:
not a happy camper-so tiny in her tub
Here are some pictures of her bath last night (6 weeks later):

Inkubook.com

I bought a groupon a while back for a free inkubook online scrapbook. I usually use either Mixbook or MyPublisher for my online scrapbooks, but I decided to get the groupon to try this site out. The books are pretty cute and easy to make; however, you can't be quite as creative as you can with the Mixbooks. Also, it was pretty annoying to add pictures because some would take three or four trys to upload correctly. All in all, I made a pretty simple book, but I liked the way it turned out. I'm excited to get it in the mail!

Glorious Rain!

Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
-Psalms 147:7-8

I never thought that I'd be so excited to see rain, but this morning, when I saw that black cloud growing larger and closer I was absolutely elated! I had to actually see the rain coming out of the clouds to believe it though, because we've had so many false alarms in the last several months. I hope our dying grass appreciated this lovely gift from God :)

 loved seeing the dark clouds!!
everyone was a little extra lazy this morning during the rainstorm
 really coming down now
Lila was shocked to see water actually falling from the sky
 Drink up, grass!!

6 Weeks Old

Every week, come Wednesday, I wonder how another seven days has passed us by. It has been six weeks (six weeks!!!) since Alli was born! This was seriously the fastest six weeks of my life so far. I know that time only speeds up as you live it, but I really am trying to soak up every breath, every milestone, every facial expression that she has because I know it changes so fast! I've been trying to take a bunch of pictures every week to document her growth in the early months to help me cherish and remember these precious newborn days!

Also, we got to see Dr. Klein again this morning at my six week post-pardom visit. It was good to see everyone again and show off our cute baby!
