Fourth of July Weekend at Camp Freeman

This has been one crazy Summer with Josh's work schedule and the kids being in various camps and such, so I'm finally getting a chance to blog about our fun Summer events (starting with Fourth of July weekend).

Fourth of July weekend was SO much fun! Kimberly and I had planned to invite ourselves to mom and dad's house with our families for the weekend, and we are so glad that it worked out for everyone to be there.  We missed Phillip and Kaitlyn though (Kaitlyn was super sick in the hospital-but she's much better now!).
Took the girls to see "Inside Out" on Friday before heading to Yeye and Edaddy's

We all got there on Friday afternoon of the 3rd.  Mom and Dad grilled and prepared a delicious dinner for all of us, we played with the kiddos, drank too much wine, and enjoyed some time in the hot tub.  It's always a blast out at "Camp Freeman."

Saturday began very gloomy with rain and storms (thank goodness I was a Peachtree Road Race quitter, the rain made is super nice to sleep in), but it didn't stop us from getting out to the backyard to swim once the thunder stopped.  We had lunch reservations for the buffet down at the River Club pool, so we grabbed some shoes and headed down the street to the club pool.  The lunch was absolutely delicious, and by the time we were finished, the clouds went away and the sun came out. Everyone had such a blast at the pool, sliding down the big slide, and drinking some adult beverages in the sunshine.

We made our way back to mom and dad's for naps before getting ready for dinner and fireworks at the Atlanta Athletic Club.  We've been celebrating the Fourth of July at the AAC as long as I can remember, and I'm so glad that we are back in Atlanta to continue the tradition with my own children. They always put on such a great party with awesome food, drinks, games and rides for the kids, and an amazing fireworks display.  Grant didn't love the fireworks, but mom brought Alli some ear plugs and she was able to watch and enjoy them this year.  Lila has always loved fireworks, and she keeps asking when we can see them again.  It was one of the best Fourth of July's that we've celebrated yet!
