House Divided

Josh ordered the girls' Alabama dresses last week, and they came in on Friday afternoon (just in time for the game this Saturday). I was hoping to get through at least one more game day without the girls wearing crimson, but thanks to orientexpressed.com's super fast processing and shipping, they were able to wear them one week after ordering. To compromise, we let Alli wear Auburn colors while Lila wore Bama colors. We will probably alternate them next week to be fair! Lila was really confused with her outfit at first (see the first two pictures), but got used to them and was back to her crazy self.

We had our friends over to watch the games all day, and they brought their baby Elle who is almost one. Her and Lila had such a fun time playing with each other, and we all had a great time watching some good football games and visiting. I just hope that Auburn gives us at least one game this season that doesn't come down to the last minute!

The girls and their chairs

Both girls have chairs that they sit in while they watch tv or just hang out in the living room. However, sometimes Lila thinks that both chairs should be hers and gets stuck in Alli's Bumbo!

Lila's First Day of School

backpack on and ready to go to school
Today was Lila's first day in the toddler class at Mother's Day Out. I got there to pick her up a little early, so I watched her play for a few minutes before going in to get her. When I walked into her class, she brought me the toy she was playing with to show me how to work it. She was so proud of herself and looked like she had a great day!

It was so nice to get all my errands run today. I forgot how fast I can run around with only one kiddo! It only took me about half the time that I gave myself to get everything done, and I actually got to relax with the extra time that I had! The weather outside made the day even that much more amazing!!

Happy Labor Day!

We did the exact opposite of laboring today (which I guess is was your supposed to do on Labor Day?). I came down with a nasty head cold, and Josh went back to work today, so the girls and I spent the day laying on the couch and watching tv. I'm so thankful for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, because if it weren't for this wonderful tv program, Lila would have spent the day chewing on whatever she could find and screaming (I pray these new teeth come in SOON!) like she has the past few days!

Even though I didn't feel well, there's always energy to try for a photo shoot! Lila wasn't having it, though, so we just did the best we could!
Alli was tired of our photo shoot already

I wish this shot wasn't blurry!!
I love the expression on Lila's face...it's like she is wondering why in the world Alli is crying.
I just love her double chin!

Alli's First "Swim"

Yesterday was such a nice day (although a bit windy) and was a high of around the high 80's, so we decided to take the girls to the pool for the last weekend of the Summer. The water was actually pretty chilly, and I'm not sure if it just felt that way because it wasn't sweltering hot outside, or if it really was cold in temperature. We dipped Alli's feet in the water for the first time, and she seemed pretty indifferent towards it (she is only 7 weeks old though). I'm sure she was curious why we put her feet in cold water since she is used to her nice warm tubbies. She is so much younger than Lila was when we first introduced her to the pool (since Lila was born in February), so we didn't expect much of a reaction.
While Alli slept and Lila played with Josh, I was watching these two little girls about 2 and 3.5 playing with their dad. The girls were so cute and looked like they were so close, and I couldn't help but get excited for when Lila and Alli are about those ages to see how they play and interact with one another. Lila and I had fun playing in the neighborhood pool this year, and I'm excited for next year's visits to the pool with both girls!

College Football Season is HERE!

Josh, Lila, Alli, and I spent the morning watching College Game Day (although Lila wondered why we weren't watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse), eating Chick-Fil-A biscuits, and taking pictures in their coordinating Auburn outfits. They looked so cute, I couldn't help but take a couple (hundred) pictures!...but then again what else is new?!? I told Josh that if he wanted to see them in the dreaded crimson and white, then he had to pick it out and buy it himself. With that said, he ordered their Bama outfits today, and they will be shipped soon next week! I think seeing both his girls in orange and blue was enough motivation!
We dvr'd the Auburn and Alabama game because we wanted to take advantage of the cooler weather and hang out at the pool. We watched the Auburn game first when we got back, and it about gave me a heart attack (reminded me of about every game of last season...minus the eye candy that was Cam Newton!).  After the Auburn game went off, we watched about an hour of the Alabama game and then turned it off because it was such a boring game. Thank goodness the LSU/Oregon did not disappoint! It was such a great first game day, and I'm looking forward to many more to come. I can't wait to take my girls to a game on the plains one day when they get older!
