Disney on Ice

We took the girls to Disney on Ice last weekend, and they LOVED it! They thought they had gone back to Disney world when the show started.  We let them pick out a few (over-priced) "treasures" from the gift carts when we first got there, so every character that came on the ice, Lila would hold up her prizes to show them.  She loved waving her Cinderella and Ariel dolls to the respective princesses, and she borrowed Alli's Buzz to show the Toy Story characters when it was their time to skate.  It was so true to character that Lila picked out the princess purse and Alli chose Buzz Lightyear.  It was a great show, and I'm so glad that we brought the girls.
Grant's ready for the show too
impatiently waiting to go inside
mesmerized by the show

Two Months Old *November 12, 2013*

Two whole months has gone by, and each one passes quicker than the first!  He is such a serious baby, but he has started to smile and smirk at us when we talk to him.  He is such a cuddle-bug, and would prefer to be held all.day.long if he had his way! He is such a perfect completion to our family, and the girls still can't get enough of him!
Here's what you're up to lately:

*You weigh 10 pounds and 6.1 ounces (18%) and are 22.25 inches tall (22%). You are long and lean.

*You are sleeping pretty well these days.  You usually fall asleep between 8:30 and 9:30pm and will wake up for the first time between 1:30 and 3am. You are usually up at least every two hours after that, and you want to be up for good around 5:30am, so I put you in bed with me and you'll fall back asleep for a bit.

*You sleep swaddled in two blankets so you can't get to your hands. They wake you up when you can get to them.

*You are awake for most of the day now.  You'll take a morning nap, but it's pretty scattered since we're usually out of the house (and it's mostly in your carseat).  You take a great afternoon nap from around 2:30 until 5:30pm.
*you are still nursing like a champ! You want to eat all.day.long, and it's super exhausting.  You've gotten many more bottles lately because I've had to leave you in various nursery's or with daddy for different reasons (tennis, jr league meeting, workout time, editing, and photography shoots).

*You drink around 4 ounces at a time from a bottle, and you will nurse for at least 20 minutes each session, most of the time you'll nurse around 30 minutes.

*you still like your Avent bottles, and you have also enjoyed a Tommy Tippee bottle.
*you are starting to take your Mam paci more often than your Soothie, but you're still not a huge paci baby.

*you are wearing 3 months and 0-3 month onesies now.

*you are in size one diapers, and even those are getting snug around the middle. You still have a way to go before you'll need size 2's though.
*you still only like your swing when you are really tired and really full.

*you recognize our voices and will turn your head towards the sounds we make. You can follow our faces as well and are able to track objects with your eyes. You love to listen to Lila talk to you, and both of your sisters love to get in your face.
*your hands are always clenched in fists.  When they get sweaty, they smell like stinky feet (such a boy already!)

*you can lift your head about 90 degrees when laying on your stomach. During tummy time, you love to push your legs forward and back like you are trying to crawl.

*you first rolled from your tummy to your back at six weeks old.

*you can hold your head steady when we hold you upright. You will still let it flop forward on occasion, but not very often. You are getting so strong!

*you are starting to smile finally!  I noticed your first real smile right at 8 weeks.  You don't have the biggest smile, but you definitely smile with your eyes and give us lots of little smirks.

*you are starting to "coo" and it sounds precious!

*You really enjoy sitting in your Bumbo seat. You love to sit up in my lap too. The doctor was amazed at your head control when she saw you today!

*You had your 2-month check-up today, and you were great with your shots! You cried more because I had to lay you down on the table than you did when you actually got the shots.  I'm hoping that they make you sleep a little more today...but so far, no such luck! You are acting the same as usual, just wanting to eat and be held all day!

Lila: August-November 2013

I was pretty terrible at keeping up with these updates the past three months, but understandably so. Lila looks so grown up all of a sudden and is growing to be such a sweet, thoughtful person. She is the absolute best helper and definitely one of the reasons that this transition to three kids has been pretty seamless!
August-September 2013:
*You saw your first movie (Planes) on August 24th. You enjoyed it, and you loved the popcorn.
*You met your new teachers at Happy Harbour, Ms. Dee and Ms. Tracie.  You love your new class and have many friends that are in there with you.
*You finished your Summer soccer season, thank goodness. You had a great time playing with your teammates.
September-October 2013:
*You officially started 3-year preschool this month, and you love it.
*You got a new baby brother this month, and you are completely in love with him.  You always give him kisses and love to sit and watch me feed him.
*You have many funny sayings, but this month, you love to say "to the morrow" when you mean "tomorrow".  Everything is "I'll do it to the morrow".
*You started "nursing" your baby dolls (you even switch sides halfway though haha), and it's so funny to watch you take care of them like I take care of Grant.
October-November 2013:
*You weigh 30.4 pounds and are about 38 inches tall.
*You had a great time being Dorothy for Halloween.
*You had talked about Halloween since late July, and you were so glad to finally get to trick-or-treat
*You are still so sweet with your brother, and even gave him a bottle all by yourself without being asked.
*You still call your favorite breakfast "pink opiop" for pink oatmeal.
*You are loving your teachers and your class, and your favorite little boy is Jackson.
*You are turning into the sweetest child and are so helpful!
*The other day, I was getting ready to go out to dinner with friends and you said "mommy, you look so beautiful! No, mommy, you ARE so beautiful" It was so genuine and so sincere, and it melted my heart!

Children's Museum Halloween Party

On the Monday before Halloween, we attended the Children's Museum of Houston's member's-only Halloween party.  We went to their Christmas party last year, and it was so well-run that we figured this one would be the same.  They had two time slots to sign up for to attend, so it regulated the crowds really well.
There were trick-or-treating sessions set up at various checkpoints throughout the museum, and they gave each child one piece per station.  I was so glad that it wasn't a "stuff-your-kid-full-of-as-much-candy-as-possible" type party, and the girls were completely satisfied with the few pieces that they were given.

Lila has her favorite route that we do at the museum, so she led the way and showed daddy what she does at each part.  Of course, we had to start at the H.E.B, since that is her very favorite part.  Next was the painting station, Vet center, and then outside to the pumpkin patch, waterworks, and chicken hut.
The girls had a blast making crafts, decorating mini pumpkins, trick-or-treating, and playing at the museum party, and we are already looking forward to their Christmas party!
