13 Months Old

I debated continuing the monthly updates after Lila turned 1, but it is so nice to look back and see the different milestones that she accomplishes and each new thing that she learns during the month. I print all of my blog posts for the year into a bound book so that I can look back and remember all of the events and things that we do each month, so I am going to keep up the monthly Lila updates for my own records :)

What you're up to this month:

*You weigh around 21 pounds, but I can't measure you exactly because we are at the beach and there is no scale! I'm not going to attempt the height either, but if I had to guess, I'd say around 28 inches.

*You are walking all over the place now. You are getting faster everyday, and I'm now wishing that you would have waited to walk until later. You walked all over the beach today!

*You can say "dog" "mama" "dada" "baby" "nana" "uh-oh" "hi" and "bye-bye"

*You love anything Elmo and love to read books and watch movies about him.

*You have six teeth total, and I don't feel any others getting close to popping through yet! Thank goodness that we get a little break on the teething front!

*You are still sleeping 11-13 hours a night from around 7pm to about 7:30am. You still want to take 2 naps a day that last between 1-3 hours.

*You love patty cake and I catch you playing it by yourself a lot. You also still love peek-a-boo.

*You finally figured out how to blow kisses and love to do it. It's so cute when you miss your mouth and blow kisses from your forehead!

*You love your sippy cups, but the Playtex brand cups are your favorite. You LOVE milk, but aren't as fond of water or juice.

*We celebrated your second Valentine's Day with a party at your house. All of your friends had so much fun playing with you at your house.

*You are still eating anything and everything that we eat, but your favorites are anything that is sweet or fruit. We tried peanut butter with you this month and you really love that too! You still love waffles and bagels also.

*You and Chevy are starting to have a love-hate relationship. He gets jealous when all of our attention goes to you, and you get angry when he knocks you over when you are walking or tries to drink out of your cup with you. But, you LOVE to feed him your food and think it's hilarious to watch him eat out of your hands. You even tease him with your food by pretending to give it to him but then eating it yourself. It's a mean but funny game to watch!

Your second year has already started off so exciting with many birthday parties, holidays, and a trip back to the beach town where you were born.  We love you and love watching you grow and learn to use your body in different ways to explore your world.
