Newly Green Nursery

Can you believe that I haven't taken one single picture of Lila since we got back from Florida on Monday?? I'm serious...that's five whole days with no pictures, she is probably so confused! I also just realized that I haven't posted about the newly painted nursery yet, so here it goes:

Josh was off of work this past weekend while we were in Florida. Every time I would talk to him he said he was just being lazy or watching tv, which is completely normal for him, especially since he had just gotten back from a trip underway where they got almost no sleep. I thought that this was a great time for him to rest since we weren't there to demand his attention!

On Sunday when I talked to him, I mentioned sarcastically that if he was so bored and lonely that he could get a head start on painting the nursery. He played it off like he was too tired and suggested hiring someone to do it. I started to get a little annoyed with that comment since there was no need to hire someone if he knew how to paint just as well anyways (free labor is better than having to pay someone-especially if I'm not the one having to do the labor haha). He could tell that I was starting to get frustrated and that I was thinking that the nursery will never get painted, so he decided to go ahead and spill the beans.

He quickly cut me off and told me that he has been painting the nursery the whole weekend while we were gone and wanted to surprise me...oops! I didn't believe him at first, but then once I was convinced that he was telling the truth, I felt guilty about making him ruin the surprise. He told me that he was happy to do it and felt as though it was a bonding experience with Alli since he won't be able to go to any of the doctor's appointments like he could with Lila. Nevertheless, I was so excited and happy that the nursery was painted and couldn't wait to get home and see how the color turned out.  It is a pretty, bright lime green color, and it looks so great with the pink and white accents. I still have to put up the wall decal of her name above her crib, as well as the white picture frames and shelves. I'm so excited to see it all finished, although that will be some time from now I'm sure!

Thanks Josh for being such a great husband and daddy!!

The green looks so pretty in the background with the chandelier
Our room is still a mess, but a work in progress
