Three Months Old *December 12, 2013*

I don't think I'm ever going to be on-time with a monthly post again! I was so on top of every update with Lila and Alli, but since he's my last baby, I've spent much more time holding, cuddling, and soaking in his baby days. Three whole months have gone by since his birth day! It's hard to imagine our lives without him, and I'm so excited that he's here with us.  He is becoming so much more "alive" everyday, and he has finally started giving us big smiles. We can't wait to spend our first Christmas with him in our family!
Here's what you're up to lately:

*You weigh 12.4 pounds.

*You are sleeping pretty well these days.  You usually fall asleep between 8:30 and 9:30pm and will wake up for the first time between 2:30 and 5am. You are usually up at least every two hours after that, and you want to be up for good around 6:30/7:30am, so I put you in bed with me and you'll fall back asleep for a bit.

*You sleep swaddled in two blankets so you can't get to your hands. They wake you up when you can get to them.

*You have a crazy startle reflex, and you will jump a foot if anyone makes a loud noise near you (I thought you'd get used to it with your loud sisters, but you still get so startled).

*Every now and then, you will sleep 8 hours straight.  I just need to start going to bed sooner to when you do, so I can take advantage of those nights.

*You are awake for most of the day now.  You'll take a morning nap, but it's pretty scattered since we're usually out of the house (and it's mostly in your car seat).  You take a great afternoon nap from around 2:30 until 5:30pm.

*you are still nursing like a champ, but you are starting to really love your bottles too.  You are following in your sisters' footsteps by preferring the bottle over the breast during the day, but you are still a better nurser than they were.

*You drink between 4-6 ounces at a time from a bottle, and you will nurse for at least 20 minutes each session, most of the time you'll nurse around 30 minutes.

*you still like your Avent bottles, and you have also enjoyed a Tommy Tippee bottle.
*you are back to favoring your Soothie pacis over your Mams, but you're still not a huge paci baby.

*you are wearing 3 months and 3-6 month onesies now. You have officially grown out of your 0-3 month onesies.
*you are in size one diapers, and even those are getting snug around the middle. You still have a way to go before you'll need size 2's though.

*we have finally found a swing that you like, and of course, it was the one that we gave away before we got pregnant with you.  We have since bought a replacement, and you are so happy in there.

*you recognize our voices and will turn your head towards the sounds we make. You can follow our faces as well and are able to track objects with your eyes. You love to listen to Lila talk to you, and both of your sisters love to get in your face.

*your hands are always clenched in fists.  When they get sweaty, they smell like stinky feet (such a boy already!).  You also like to clasp your fists together so it looks like you are praying.

*you can lift your head about 90 degrees when laying on your stomach. During tummy time, you love to push your legs forward and back like you are trying to crawl.

*you rolled from your back to your belly the other day.  I was so surprised! You were on the ottoman (I was right there to catch you), and you haven't done it while on the floor yet.

*you can hold your head steady when we hold you upright. You will still let it flop forward on occasion, but not very often. You are getting so strong!

*you smile with your whole body.  It's hard to get an iPhone picture of you smiling, because you move so much, they are always blurry.

*you are starting to "coo" and it sounds precious!

*You really enjoy sitting in your Bumbo seat.  You also love the sound of my hair dryer.

We are looking forward to our first Christmas with you in a few weeks!
