I try to take the kids to visit the mall Santa early to beat the crowds after our fiasco in 2010 (blog post
here), so we took advantage of a slow Saturday morning and went to see Santa. Lila and Alli were so excited to see him, and I was surprised (and relieved) that there were no tears from Alli this year! Lila enjoyed telling him that she wanted princesses for Christmas, but she didn't quite understand why he didn't produce them right then and there. It's hard explaining to a 2 and 3 year old that they have to wait another month for the greatest holiday ever...although, obviously I need to do a better job of explaining that this holiday is about much more than gifts!
There was no one else waiting in line when we got there, so the girls were able to chat with Santa for a while before getting their picture made, which they loved! Grant was such a good boy, and he was very content sitting on Santa's lap. Of course, he is happy whenever he is being held, so I figured he would love the big guy!...I'm pretty obsessed with their outfits too, and they may or may not wear them all year even though they are distinctly red and green plaid for Christmas.
