I have to rave on a new site that I found from my friend's blog. It's
http://www.borrowlenses.com/, and on this site you can rent cameras, tons of lenses, flashes, etc. for a very reasonable price! I have been eyeing a Canon 50mm 1.4 lens, which retails for around $400-$500 depending on the store, for some time now. I asked for this particular lens for my birthday (not sure if I'll get it or not), but I decided to rent it for three days and play around with it before my birthday. It only cost $14 to rent it for three days (however, I must note that the shipping plus return shipping was $28)...but it gives a chance to try before you buy. It's also good for one time photo shoots (I'm think going to attempt several of my own newborn photos with a super-fancy lens when Alli comes), and this site makes it so you don't have to spend $$$$ to actually buy these expensive lenses.
I still have two more days to play around with my borrowed lens, but here are some photos that I took so far playing around with the 50mm 1.4 lens:
playing a tune on the keyboard
kisses for her baby doll
happy girl
taking out her hair bow
checking it out
handing it to me
tastes delicous
sweet baby booties
Best site ever! Cute pics too :)
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I thought you were a Nikon girl!
ReplyDeleteEither way - cute pictures! I love my 50mm f/1.4 but it is definitely my "challenging" lens since mine doesn't autofocus!
I just ordered a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 and it will be here tomorrow!
Thanks for this link - I think I might rent a find lens like a fisheye for our Hawaii trip!!
I love my 50mm Nikon lens...it's definitely my go to lens! I'll have to check out that site since I've been wanting a macro lens!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a great idea!! Thanks for the tip ;) I LOVE my 50mm. It's actually the only one I shoot with because I love it so much hahaha
ReplyDeleteGreat website! I rented a 70-200 f/2.8 last December from there for a wedding I shot. No way I could have afforded buying that monster!
ReplyDeleteI love my 50mm 1.4. It's great for indoor photos with no flash. But it takes some getting used to shooting a prime where your legs = zoom. Regardless, I doubt you'll regret purchasing it! It's a great addition to your arsenal.
And if you want some help with newborn pics, just holler! I'd love to help you out!
