Last weekend, Josh and I went to the horse races at Sam Houston Race Park in Northwest Houston with some friends from his boat. We both had never been to a horse race, so we really didn't know what to expect. I really wanted to wear derby attire (aka sundresses and big hats), but people usually wear jeans to this event so I refrained! We had a beautiful table right by the finish line and really got into the races after placing a few $2.00 bets on several horses. We won $20 on one race and $18 on another. All in all we came out about $8.00 ahead (not counting the money that we spent on food though). It was so much fun and something that we will definitely do again!

ReplyDeleteOh, good thing you tried going to one! Horse racing events are one of the most exciting events you can ever watch. You looked great for the event. I know how you felt when you didn't know what to wear… I've been there, hehe.
