A Good Good Friday

"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.

In you, O LORD, I take refuge;

let me never be put to shame.

In your justice rescue me.

Into your hands I commend my spirit;

you will redeem me, O LORD, O faithful God."

I don't really like to call this day "good" Friday, since this is the day that Jesus was crucified and brutally beaten to then die for our sins and be resurrected on Easter Sunday. It just doesn't sound like it was a "good" day, but I am so thankful for Him and His fulfillment of the scriptures for our everlasting life. 

Today, however, has been a good Good Friday here in Texas. The weather is beautiful, and we enjoyed it by eating our lunch and playing outside, then taking a long walk around the neighborhood and pond.  Lila loves ducks and had such a fun time looking at all of the ducks that were out swimming in the pond today.  When we got back from our walk, the girls played together for a while before nap time. Alli was so tired that she fell asleep in her crib almost sitting straight up. Poor baby also got her first battle wound while playing outside. She tried to lunge off of the couch and hit the side of her face on the coffee table :( She's a trooper though, and there weren't many tears!
