Anniversary trip to Destin

To celebrate our upcoming fourth anniversary (on July 26th), Josh and I left the girls with our parents and headed down to Destin, Florida for the week.  The weather wasn't the best that we've ever experienced, but we had no children, so we really couldn't have cared less what the weather did!
We got to the beach on Monday evening, unpacked quickly, and made our way to dinner across the street at Camile's. We crave that sushi on a daily basis, so it's always our first stop!
It was SO wonderful to sleep in on Tuesday morning, and we took our time getting to the beach. We were able to spend a couple hours on the beach before the rain came. It rained the rest of the day, so we ran some errands, bought a tripod (because we needed a way to take pictures of ourselves haha-I'm so glad that Josh is such a good sport!), and bought a few other things that I needed from the Destin Commons.  That night, we got a taxi to take us to Tommy Bahama Cafe for dinner. We got to dinner an hour before our reservations so that we could sit at the bar and drink some of their famous martinis and talk before stuffing our faces with their awesome food! The weather was still crummy, but our dinner was fabulous!
Wednesday was nice all day! We stayed out by the beach for most of the day, but we came in later in the afternoon to relax outside of the sun. We got ready and took a few pictures on the beach (with the new tripod :)!) before heading to Bonefish Grill for dinner (they don't have any Bonefish Grills in Texas...can you believe that?!?). It was SOOO good to eat at Bonefish again since that used to be our staple restaurant before we moved to Texas where this restaurant does not exist (one bad thing about Texas!). We were definitely stuffed and just laid around at the condo before going to bed relatively early again...we're still stuck on our schedule whether we like it or not, although sleeping in got easier as the week progressed.
Our last full day came way too fast! We drove up to Seaside for the morning, shopped a bit, and ate a delicious lunch at Bud and Alley's. It was gorgeous, and the restaurant was not crowded at all, so we were able to enjoy a quiet lunch away from the crazy crowds that seem to be everywhere else this time of year (it was definitely NOT this crowded back in May!!). When we got back to the condo, we enjoyed some last hours of beach time before dinner. We ate dinner at Camilie's again because we needed one last sushi fix before heading back home.

It was such a great trip, and we had the best time! It was so great to see the girls again though, and it feels even better to be back home in Texas! Happy 4th anniversary, Josh!
